7 1/2 Habits

Well my biggest struggle with the 7 1/2 Habits is time. It's now the start of the 4th week and I'm just starting this process. I have work, family, etc., etc. - things that take time and now have added this 1st phase of lifelong learning. I never think of myself as a "learner", but I think this will be good for me - something just for me for no other reason except that I didn't know anything about blogging and now I will.

Welcome to the program! I think finding the time for learning new things is one of my biggest challenges as well. With this project, you will be able to learn about some of these popular online tools in small chunks so that it is never too overwhelming. Plus...no grades!

I definitely empathize with the time crunch! I think my learning often goes in spurts for that very reason.

For Web 2.0 I'm trying to set aside some time 1-2 times a week. When I do, I have a little routine -- check everyone else's blogs to see what they are doing and leave comments to encourage them, then do 1-2 of Mary's "things" to make progress in my own learning. Seeing everyone else's work first inspires me to do my own and sparks my creativity -- it helps me get in the mood for learning!

I've learned to read my email and RSS feeds first thing in the morning, before I get distracted by other work. I am going to do the same with Learning 2.0 and see if that helps me stay on top of everything.
